Date:Did you ever copy-paste LLM output, post it straight to a discussion and say "This is what the LLM says..."?
Why?
Did you:
- Not bother to actually think about the question at hand?
- Not bother to shape your own opinion?
- Doubt your own capabilities?
- Doubt the capabilities of others?
- Not bother to understand the LLM's output?
- Try but ultimately not understand the LLM's output?
- Doubt that others are capable of using LLMs themselves?
- Not consider the cognitive overhead it's creating?
... but still wanted to be involved somehow?
LLM outputs are deceptive and often contain statements that seem reasonable at first glance but that under closer scrutiny turn out to contain erroneous or just plain empty and meaningless statements.
Analyzing LLM outputs takes effort. The empathetic thing to do is to not demand that others put in that effort, unnecessarily.
